Rated 5 out of 5 by from For various reasons this was our favorite gig of the year by far. I've got all the Detroit Cobras stuff, so when I saw the band we're playing in the North West I just booked the tickets straight away. Having looked at the reveiws I feel for everybody, Having spoken to the band for 15 mins I know they wouldn't ever deliberately give a substandard show, so I've no idea what went wrong but in Manchester they were fab at Gorilla!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bit flat Not sure what the problem was . A combination of a overlarge venue and undercharged sound worked against the band. I got the keys I mpression of exhaustion/indifference Not scintillating as expected , the bellrays are my go to in future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cobras should have been better ... Peawees more please!!! So after the mess of the Flaming Groovies earlier in the year, I was hoping for more from The Detroit Cobras. Sadly I was to be disappointed again. Jet lag and drunk is not a great combination especially when you are more interested in chatting and complaining than actually singing, the musician ship was good, just not enough of it. But let's talk about the Peawees instead. For a band I hadn't heard of until the night before they were professional, approachable, on their game, pure punky rock n roll. Very well delivered, great songs, infact everything I expected from the Cobras and didn't get. This gig was 24 hours too early for the Cobras but the Peawees are the reason for the stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The lead singer appeared to be drunk I’d waited many years to see this band. Unfortunately the lead singer spoiled it by swearing and rambling way too much between songs. The rest of the band played on with professionalism.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shoddy performance Arrived in Camden to find out the stage times and saw that Detroit Cobras were due on stage 9.30-10.30. Short and sweet we thought but would probably be a good hour's entertainment. Went for a pre-drink at the Buck's Head and returned to the venue about 9.15. Got a drink and noticed venue was half full. Found a decent spot and waited for the band to start. And waited and waited... Around 9.45 they eventually got on stage and it was clear that the singer was suitably refreshed. Sound for the first couple of songs was a bit all over the place and the band seemed to be a bit unsure of what they were doing. The singer had a few rants about various things that didn't make a lot of sense. The Royal Family, why they were late (something about a train journey?), Brexit etc, which in her drunken way all seemed to come back to being the our (the audience's) fault. After about 30 minutes the sound seemed to come together and the band started to gel (even if the singer didn't). When it did come together the band were great and the singer has a great voice but after only around 35 minutes they left! The audience chanted and applauded for more and they eventually came back to the stage. More ranting about something we had done and we were punished (so she said) with the band playing a ballad. Fine, I thought, a few more uptempo tunes after this one then. No, that was it and they left the stage and we were hurriedly ushered out of the venue, (what was the rush? we hadn't even got to 10.30). Could have been a great night if the band had got their act together and the singer had kept the boozing to a minimum. Ho-hum, much as I like them, I won't be bothering to see them live again. Shame.
