Pearl Harts wonderful at The Lexington
Some weeks ago at the Skating Poly gig at the Sebright Arms I met Kirsty and Sara of the Pearl Harts, they said I should see them play at the Lexington so I decided I would. This was one of the better decisions I have made in recent weeks. Their sound is sort of classic rock and roll plus elements of funk, really what’s not to like. Sara on drums is terrific and Kirsty’s guitar playing is fabulous too, Sara does backing vocals and Kirsty the main singing. There was a sizeable crowd many who had seen them before or were wearing their t-shirts and I don’t think anyone present was disappointed by what they heard, it was a great performance. They played twelve tunes and Sara had spent some time prior to the show creating some stunning visual imagery which was projected on a large screen behind them which changed for each song, it was great and really added to the overall experience.
There was no encore but quite honestly none was needed, their whole set was superb.
Support was from Babyteeth who were rather good, they played nine songs and there was not a duff one present. Overall an excellent support act and well worth seeking out and seeing again. Late comers really missed out by not seeing them.
