Best gig for a long time in the best venue
I only discovered The Revivalists about 6months ago but became hooked instantly. When I accidentally found out they were touring and in town I bought tickets, 4 days before the gig. This was the best spur of the moment purchase I’ve ever made.
My 13 year old daughter and I had the best time at the gig. The support from Joel Gardner was excellent, worth a listen if you ever get the chance.
The Revivalists were awesome. It genuinely looked like all 8 members were thoroughly enjoying themselves. Frontman David Shaw was born to sing. Interaction with the crowd was brilliant and he really got everyone up for the night. The acoustics in the venue is superb which only enhanced the experience and really helped you appreciate just how tight the band are.
My daughter was gutted that they didn’t so Soulfight but they played all my favourites such as It Was A Sin, Stand Up, Change, Got Love, All My Friends and ended with Wish I Knew You with a Pink Floyd interlude.
The intimate nature of the venue definitely increased the overall sensory experience. I for one will definitely be returning to Band On The Wall and buying tickets for The Revivalists Next time they play the UK. Although I suspect it will be at a bigger venue when they return.
Also got to meet some of the band afterwards including Michael the keyboard / trumpet player who was a really nice bloke.
