What people are saying about The Simon & Garfunkel Story

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic nostalgia evening I listened to Simon and Garfunkel growing up as my mum was a fan and I was not disappointed in the show! The harmonies were faultless and the guy singing Garfunkel was outstanding and his mannerisms were spot on. The guy playing Paul Simon’s part was a fantastic guitarist and his voice was great although not a lot like the man himself. The set was very basic and the film clips were an enhancement and an annoyance in turn as was the constant instructions to clap along ( even with an up tempo number with a complex rhythm)!! The backing band did a solid job and the bass guitarist was in a world of his own which was amusing but a little distracting. Highlights for me were the iconic Simon and Garfunkel songs from my childhood and it was well worth the trip to even just hear Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Mrs Robinson and The Boxer. We had seats at the back of the dress circle with a restricted view of a pillar but as the action is all central this was not a problem. Finally I did love the Paul Simon shoulder lifting when he played guitar!! Fans won’t be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an amazing show. Wow. What an amazing show. Seriously good - with a live band of just 3 guys & a backdrop of some really nostalgic footage. So worth seeing if you can catch them on tour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have the records and this was well worth the wait! Having bought the music when it came out this was the first opportunity we have ever had to relive this time and music. We have been receiving Electric Parade e.mails since we visited Bridport for the Olympics in 2012 and this was the first time we had been able to get away since. Third sector run organisations deserve all our support as they are run by enthusiasts who should be lauded. I spoke to one of the management on the way out and they play to near full houses on most occasions. Simon and Art were very good, as also were the backing group. The sound deadening material on the walls of the stalls were a joy to behold. Many modern outfits could do to learn! Great night in Bridport, even allowing for the rain brought by Angus! Well done to all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great night out! I took my elderly parents to see this show, and we all had a really good time. Excellent musicians, beautiful harmonies and all set against a backdrop of film shots of the era. Not only was the music fab, but also the story of how Simon and Garfunkel first got together was very interesting.I would recommend this show to anyone who enjoys the music of Simon and Garfunkel.
