What people are saying about The Slow Readers Club

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great show from The Slow Readers Club This is the 4th time I've seen The Slow Readers Club and they just get better and better. The latest album is superb and they transfer their sound well to a live stage. This is only the second time I've been to the Islington Assembly Halls for a gig but it is definitely one of the nicest around and being fairly small makes for a nice relaxed atmosphere. I've never heard any SRC songs played on the radio but they definitely deserve to be heard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible live band The Slow Readers Club are one of the finest live bands out there. This was my third time seeing them and they keep on getting even better with each show. Just heard today their new album ‘Build a Tower’ went in at number 18 in the charts which is so well deserved. It says a lot about a band when most the crowd can belt back lyrics from an album that is less than a week old and that the many new songs sit alongside the old as if they’ve always been there. The standout track was a song from the new album ‘On the TV’ which is a summer anthem in the making and tonight saw the birth of a crowd singalong to its guitar riff. The sound in the venue was crisp and sounded great. The Readers fans are a vocal and bouncy lot and a lot of fun to be in a gig with. No shoe-gazing at one of these shows.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing sound, great venue! I heard Slow readers club on radio 6 and promptly booked most local venue, the engine rooms Southampton. It was my first visit to the venue. The band weren’t the most exciting to watch, but their sound made up for that. Full rich, dynamic. Their songs by the end of the gig seemed to follow the same tempo and structure so individually songs were good, but not all memorable. I can’t say would see them again but full marks to Mike on the house sound desk.
