What people are saying about The Tallest Man On Earth

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tallest Man in a church. There is something special about the Union Chapel which creates a magical experience. Perhaps it is the high vaulted ceilings which provide ample space in which the acoustics resonate, or the spiritual association one makes with sitting on old church pews. It could be that they provide unique catering services with hearty home cooked vegetarian meals in the bar and provide proper mugs or tea or hot chocolate for you to snuggle up as you let the sounds of a performance envelope you in the chapel. It is probably a combination of all of these things that makes this my favourite venue in London. I have been privileged enough to see a number of artists over the last few years at this unique venue and have never been disappointed. The Tallest Man on Earth exceeded my expectations. Kristian Matsson‘s voice has a haunting tranquility that reverberates in the depth of your soul. Despite performing with a solitary guitar he is able to fill the space so that every note penetrates every cell in your body. He is a master of his craft who gets better and better each time you see him. His ability to grow as a musician is fitting as he is almost certainly taller every time you meet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a night. Can we do it all over again please? We travelled 3 hours for this gig, expecting it to be magical and enchanting it didn’t disappoint. The talent kristian has in his little finger is all I would need to be wonderful. He is insanely talented. His music touches my heart and has grown with me over the years. His music is just beautiful, and to see him in Union chapel where I was almost in touching distance was something I will never forget. Such an honour to have been there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic show! I went to the event with my best friend; the only other person who's heard of TTMOE! I hadn't been to see him got a few years so it was great going again. The support act was awesome as well (Phil Cook) and the venue was perfect. TTMOE was absolutely brilliant!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Tallest Man on Earth, Albert Hall, Manchester, 23 October 2015 The Tallest Man on Earth is a whole new experience with the full band, but Kristian Matsson is still a captivating performer. A good setlist alternating between new and old, happy and sad, loud and quiet. Songs like Revelation Blues and King of Spain become different beasts entirely, although a fuller setup doesn't always pay off (The Wild Hunt). Probably a more structured show than the Tallest Man's solo days and, ultimately, one that exceeded high expectations. The venue itself was a nice setting for a great night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not tall in height, but a giant in terms of talent. I have to start by saying that I always enjoy gigs a lot more when I am drunk, and I was really rather drunk for this one, but it truly was an amazing live performance. Kristian Matsson looked incredibly comfortable on stage, and showed that singer/songwriter music doesn't have to be boring. All of the songs had a fast paced rhythm imbedded which made for a toe tapping show, even if you weren't already a fan. Kristian had a well oiled show rehearsed with his band, as well as the man that kept bringing out his guitars in different whacky tunings. The gig was a masterpiece. It was a show of modern slick alternative music, incredibly talented musicians, and I would say was the best gig of the year for me so far (discounting Glastonbury of course). It was also a nice touch, that after every song, Kristian would throw his guitar pick into the air, an easy way to tell the crowd, "You can clap now", and a lot cheaper than smashing up your guitar. Also a nice surprise, was to see Phil Cook supporting, another talented musician and thoroughly nice bloke!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok Found a lot of the new material quite pedestrian and middle of the road, but the earlier songs were magnificent and he certainly put on an enthusiastic performance. Great venue.
