Utterly brilliant and I just hope this is the start of a new run of amazing The The albums (not just film scores. Yes Mr Johnson we want to hear you sing) and gigs. Sound at the venue was terrible for the first couple of tracks and they really should have played somewhere bigger but otherwise it was everything any The The fan who has waited for the last 16 years to see them play again could have wished for.

Most disappointing gig for a long time.....
The venue was terrible and so too was the sound. Where we were stood near the merch stall we managed to see the bass player, occasionally Matt Johnson and the keyboard player. The set was poor in my opinion and rarely got out of first gear. Just as the band built some momentum we went back to the slower songs but the sound ruined it for us. We promote gigs ourselves so we know a good sound can be achieved. We also attend a lot of gigs around the UK and abroad too.

Great gig ..... pity about the venue
I’d waited nearly 30 years to see the the again and I wasn’t disappointed.... Matt’s voice was fantastic and I loved the remixes of the classics. The stage setting was the only bad point as views were limited but..... the sound more than made up for that.

Terrible venue
Music strangely quiet, packed venue, low with loads of pillars, couldn't see a thing and I'm 6'. Quite cross that I'd waited 35 years to see the band and I couldn't.

Good gig, questionable venue
The stage is so low, few people beyond the first 5m can see much. Also it was tightly packed right to the bar as well as being hot and airless.
Sound was OK after a faltering start.

They say you should never go back
Small venue, cosy and intimate but the sound wasn't great, rather harsh and brittle. They stopped after 30 mins or so to adjust it and it was a little better. Having been a fan since the early days and having seen them twice back in the day I was a little disappointed with the (loose) arrangement and some song choices which left the room a little flat at times. The piano player seemed to be experimenting with free jazz chords in some songs. Strong bass and drummer, good lead guitar, Matt was not totally focused on some of the singing but superb in others. The lack of harmonica was also disappointing. However, I sang along and tapped my feet merrily to the majority of songs I love and cherish. Matt is a very talented and lovely chap and I am genuinely pleased to see them back touring and getting the chance to see them again, especially now I can afford to buy a tour T-Shirt :)
