What people are saying about The Tubes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tubes at The Fleece 2017 Briefly, it was my first visit to the Fleece, seeing one of my favourite bands, the Tubes. Great venue, excellent gig, good beer, brilliant acoustics, facilities nearby, great experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2nd Tubes concert in near 38 years! Attended this with my wife & two Tubes fans who have seen them numerous times in the last near 40 years. Well found the venue nice and intimate, surprised there wasn’t more people there we drove from nearby Oxford. Well I enjoyed it they sung most hits I’m familiar with so that was a bonus, to many costume changes for Fee, would of preferred a couple of more songs instead, enjoyed the whole gig, would f been nice to hang about and have a picture as they were doing a meet & greet after. Fair play to the whole band there no spring chickens but still got plenty of energy for the ages, enjoyed it and would hope to see them again in the future not as long as I waited this time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Good Tubes Performance My husband is a long term, huge Tubes Fan. We have been married for over 30 years and he’s always talked about them, with fond memories from the seventies and seeing them in U.S.A. I just wasn’t sure what to expect, I’m a big Bowie Fan and my husband has always supported me seeing Bowie Gigs etc. so I thought it was the least I could do to, to go along with him. Oh boy, was I amazed! I enjoyed this gig so much. It was amazing to put a performance to the music. The band was on fire and I loved the Boots. I would see this band again. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 40 years of gig going One of the first bands I ever saw live was The Tubes at Hammersmith Odeon (as was) in November 1977. It was a spectacular show with dancers, lavish props, costume changes and more. 40 years on, the venue is smaller, the band older (Fee Waybill is now 67!), but the costume changes remain. They clearly love what they are doing, the songs are fun, the staging entertaining (if a little tatty in places - are those the same QUAY glasses from 1977?) and the energy high - especially considering their age. I'll have to confess, Waybill's vocals let him down a couple of times, but it didn't detract from a greatly entertaining show. Not sure theey'll be winning lots of new fans, but this old one went away happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 70’s punk rock theatre at it’s best Great to see The Tubes live some 40 years after I first bought their Live album on vinyl. Fee Waybill was on top form and the costume changes were well received by the crowd. On great form and a fantastic night out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High expectations surpassed. And then some! Incredible evening with a band of seasoned pros. A great atmosphere and everyone had a fabulous time. After the gig the guys came out for a meet and greet. A fantastic night out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Tubes, best gig of the year! The Tubes always provide a high energy show and Nov 6th at Sub89 was no exception. Rock, pop, funk and punk, they do all of this with a good measure of satire thrown into the mix. If you see tickets grab them, you won't be disappointed if you like your music to cram itself down your throat occasionally in all good humour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another excellent gig by The Tubes Not been to Sub89 before to see a band and was impressed by the overall layout. Not too large and provides a relatively intimate space to enjoy the music. Great access to the bands on stage and were even allowed to do some photography (non-flash). The Tubes were excellent as usual and the light show good. Would definitely recommend it as a great place to see bands and would like to go back soon.
