What people are saying about TotRockinBeats @ The Tide Of Light

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Totrockingbeats Clearly lots of effort went into this event however it was not enjoyable due to the amount of people packed into the space. It was very dark, very loud and far too overcrowded. It was very hard to keep my 3 children all together. We paid over £30 for our tickets but got very little for our money as everything inside had to be paid for on top of including face painting etc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed could have been much better Well organised, there were lots of activities for little ones and the setting was good but the main event, the music, was spoilt by constant interruptions. These included an overly long happy birthday session which most kids and adults found boring, a dance-off between two costumed characters which was a concept not understood by the vast majority of kids, and long periods of rambling by the mc and kids asking if we were having a good time. The street dance interlude by Wannadoo was good but overall there was not enough music and what was played was niche and did not cater for a range of tastes in dance music. I have been to a similar event somewhere else which was much better because it focused on adults and kids having fun together (ie. It was not "all about the kids"). This event has great potential but I don't think TRB achieved the aim of being fun for both adults and kids so I won't be going again unless the format changes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive Since most of our party spent most (kids as it was too noisy) or all (the men) of the event in the bar next door it was all very expensive. Adults shouldn't have to pay the same amount as the kids. We weren't even included in or told about the start of the parade which was a selling point of the tickets so we missed the samba band.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for kids I didn't enjoy the event. We went in a group but I hardly got to see anyone I was with as I spent 50 minutes in a queue to get a drink. The bar was in a different room with no music or atmosphere other than tension because of the wait. It was only a 2hour event. I feel like I was charged an entrance fee to stand in a queue!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really fab idea, feel it needs a bit of work We went to this with a group of friends all with children from 1year to 5 years and in its current format wouldn’t go again. The idea is brilliant but we couldn’t work out what vibe it was going for. The music was way too loud, all the same and constantly interrupted by a very, very loud MC which meant our children couldnt really get dancing and neither could us parents. A lot ofbth children’s entertainment was in the main floor and it was hard to see it physically especially with so many little ones, it wasn’t much fun but it has the capacity to be great with a bit more thought.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea! Bit too loud for little ones We went with our nearly 2 year old son who loves dancing, music was great and such a fab idea! Long, slow queues to get a drink and the music was a bit too loud as I couldn’t hear what my little one was saying. Heard a few people say similar whilst queuing. With a bit of tweaking it could be amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of fun We took my 1 year old to toy rocking beats and he did not stop dancing was so much fun, and a great place to meet like minded parents too.
