Rated 5 out of 5 by from A brilliant fun night. Superb from start to finish, inventive yet really easy to get with. Will stick with me for some time and what a fantastic vibe she created.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Tunes from Tune Yarda Tune Yards never disappoint. Original, interesting and brimming over with enthusiasm, Merrel is a shining light in the misty music scene. Joined by drum and bass blokes bringing some real welly to the back line. I really want her hip hop drummer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic fun Epitome of what live should be: great atmosphere, lots more dancing than I expected, great audience too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How come three people can make this big a sound? Tune-yards has come a long way from her tentative, Coco Rosie-like, first album. She now has full confidence in herself as both a songwriter and performer, and that showed at this gig. It was a thrill seeing how she built up each song, from an initial input then overlaying other sounds without it all sounding overdone or muddied. Yet none of this detracted from the quality of the songwriting. The basic songs are complex and eclectic, taking in elements from all over - traditional R&B, African guitar patterns, New Orleans percussion and so much more. This show felt like a celebration, the crowd reacted with absolute enthusiasm, and it was a joy to be there. Only downside, and it happens at every gig, someone who insists on spending the whole time talking. Why do these people think it's a good idea to spend money just to be seen in the vicinity of musicians?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great music, poor acoustics Great set from tune-yards, but the sound in the Albert Hall was disappointing as it often is. It's far too reverberant for loud music, all the definition was lost, the bass turned to mush. It's a shame, it's a lovely space visually, but you'd think the management would invest in some acoustic treatment of some sort. It could be a great venue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Resolutely innovative... Wonderful show. Garbus has a unique voice with an incredible range. Hooking this up to various delay/effect pedals enables her to accompany, or harmonise with, herself. As you become aware of the control system, you realise just how difficult this ought to be (she’s often using both feet to operate different pedals on different beats, whilst singing AND playing her ukelele). Fascinating to watch, hugely entertaining and the band seemed to really enjoy themselves to boot. Recommended...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Funky witch-doctor music Merrill and her gang lit the venue up with a stunning set in Norwich from material from all three of her releases. Great versions on her songs too; stripped down, souped up, and of course, ukulele!
