More Information about TURBOGEIST

The bottom line, for Turbogeist, is listen to it loud. They're a four-piece rock 'n' roll combo from London. They make a bone-rattling sound that's like a noisy juggernaut of weirdo punk rock colliding with a derailed heavy metal freight train, in a thunderstorm, on a full moon, on Halloween, in a burst of blood and flame, inside a nightmare inside the mind of Freddy Krueger. They're here to fuck shit up.

Emerging in late 2009 from the wreckage of 'The Shit Fists,' their Misfits covers band, best friends Jimmy Jagger and Luis Felber made a pact to start making exactly the sort of music they wanted to hear. No one else, they felt, was really cutting it. "We were sick of the anemic state of the music scene in London," says Jimmy; "Just countless indie clones, and this really niche scene around heavy music. I guess we wanted to straddle both of those spheres somehow."

For some loud and fast months they jiggled a line-up around, at club gigs all over London and practice rooms on their adopted home turf of Camden. They got a junkie drummer, got rid of the junkie drummer, ended up with a better, really really fit drummer (Josh Ludlow) and a skateboarding, Bad Brains-and-hip-hop-obsessed bass player (James Dunson). All the music they loved (The Replacements, The Bronx, Rites of Spring, Thin Lizzy, Choking Victim, The Wipers and Witchfinder General) rattled together into their signature rowdy sound.

They found themselves happily astride a leviathan; straddling the spheres of indie and metal, mixing the sludgy aesthetics of grunge with the guitar-shredding theatrics of thrash. The raw energy of hardcore punk threw down with the big-riffing style of the legends of cock rock, and underpinning it all: the turbo-powered spectre of the sugar-sweet, sing-along pop melody. Live, Turbogeist are a blitzkrieg with a hurricane attached.

“The point of Turbogeist was always just to inject some of the raw original virtues back into rock 'n' roll” says Luis. Jimmy’s in perfect agreement: “We just want people to enjoy themselves at our shows. Forget about everything, experience the chaos, go mental. Essentially it's just a pleasant, stress-relieving experience that we provide." If you like your stress relief breakneck and riotous then you need Turbogeist in your life.

Turbogeist are currently recording a debut E.P which will be sold as a limited edition version at these shows only.
