What people are saying about WAYWARD SONS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant A Top night was had by the sold out crowd in this little venue. Doomsday Outlaw were superb as a support band and ones to watch in 2019. Wayward Sons were awesome and fair play to Toby for a great vocal performance despite a bout of laryngitis. Thoroughly loud and thoroughly entertaining it was so warm it’s was dripping off the ceiling if you haven’t seen them yet...... get a ticket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh what a night Second time I have seen this band but I am a long standing Little Angels fan so no stranger to the talents of Toby Jepson. Their debut album Ghosts of yet to come is a great example of good old fashioned rock n roll. Bedford Esquires is an intimate venue and I managed to get myself down at the front. The Sons ran through their excellent album, plus a couple of new songs, a couple that didn't make the album and an Angel's classic for good measure. The band exude energy which transcended to the crowd who were fully involved all the way through. At the end I was hoarse through singing along and dripping in sweat from jumping around in a hot venue. One of the best gigs i have been to, topped off nicely with the band coming into the bar shortly after the gig finished and happily chatting and posing for selfies. This band deserve to play bigger venues and get their music out to a wider audience. Go see them, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wayward Sons are ACE! Not seen them before and couple of mates rated them so as they were at a favourite local venue, Esquires, and tickets were cheap it had to be done. Put simply, Bloody Awesome! The support band, Doomsday Outlaw, were a bloody good night out on their own, but Toby J and the guys took it to another level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great to see Toby Jepson back The opening act was a comedian which is a new one to me. But being a comedy fan, it was a nice change and got the crowd laughing and ready for the headliners. I did think the crowd were a little subdued for a Friday night in Newcastle but Toby Jepson and the Wayward Sons still put on a great show. They play like a band that's been together ages, very tight, and their 1st album rocks! They went through songs from the Wayward Sons album, some from their upcoming EP, and added some Little Angles songs in there too. Unfortunately the sound in the venue wasn't the best, the bass was far too loud which spoilt some of the songs. hence my 4 (instead of 5) rating. The band came and chatted with members of the audience afterwards which was nice, they were really down to earth guys, signing things and happy to get into selfies! Wayward Sons are definitely worth seeing live and I'm looking forward to hearing their new EP which is on the way. Hopefully they'll be around for a while and be doing plenty more live shows (though hopefully the sound will be better next time).
