Rated 4 out of 5 by from Whitfield Crane @ Thekla, Bristol. So for those who do not know who Whitfield Crane is he is the Lead Singer of Ugly Kidd Joe. That said he has also been the lead singer of other various collaborations including Yellow Cake. The evenings entertainment was rocked into action by Pretty Criminal. It was then further frenzied on a tidal wave of high octane, adrenaline fuelled wowness by a band named Mother Vulture who set the boat alight with an awesome set. The crowd now ablaze and ready were then catapulted upon a voyage of Whitfield Crane numbers. Supported by the incredible guitar play of Matt Reynolds and drummer Tom Marsh of the incredible upcoming band Haggard Cat and Toshi from Yellow Cake and Hey Hello, playing Bass and rhythm guitar on a couple of acoustic numbers. Whitfield Cranes incredible vocals sailed through a variety of songs opening with a couple of tracks from Yellow Cake moving through various other of his musical collaborations including some of Ugly Kidd Joe's lesser known tracks. A pure delicious delight for all. Personally I and others I knew thoroughly enjoyed it. There were one or two others who wanted some of the more main stream tracks by Whitfield Crane but hey, can't please them all. Thekla, Bristol is a cosy, intimate venue. Absolutely insane setting for a gig as it is a boat. Worth visiting to watch any gig. Especially worth visiting when one of the world's greatest rock vocalists is performing his back catalogue. Thank you Whitfield Crane and all who supported.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gig I went to the gig with my 15 year old son. We both really enjoyed the experience. Whit was in fine voice and the band played their part to perfection. We liked the venue, it was good to see an artist like Whitfield Crane, in a small friendly place like this. To top it off, my son met the main man after the show.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great night and fantastic atmosphere! I went to this event with a few friends as loved UKJ back in the 90’s and was curious to see what Whitfield Crane was like nowadays and he did not disappoint. Great music and great personality. I also must add that I arrived early to see the support band “In Albion’, I had heard of them through a friend. A brand new young theatrical rock band with awesome sounds and a lead singer that to my mind brought elements of Freddie! I think these boys could go far. Excellent night all round!!!
