Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second best band I've ever seen! This band are awesome...they are masters at their craft, in fact masters at making the finest music I've ever experienced. I had to say they are the second best band I'd ever seen as I have a favourite band that retain that mantle. I've seen a heck of a lot of bands so to take that title is pretty good. Please listen to this band, see them live, your ears will thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wye Oak Outstanding at Village Underground Village Underground was packed with a very diverse audience who did seem to be knowledgeable about Wye Oak and their work. There was not much noise from the crowd apart from the odd cheer and polite clapping at the end of each song, it seemed very odd. However what we all heard was sonic wonderment that I am sure made a lasting impression, it certainly did with me. Wye Oak is Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack on drums ably assisted by Will, I think that’s his name, on base. They all played really well and Jenn has a lovely singing voice. Their dream pop indie rock sound is fantastic live and the sound at the venue was really good, though I was at the very front, enhancing the overall feel. When they started just after nine Jenn said they were playing basically their new album, this of course was nonsense. They did play the songs from ‘The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs’ but interspersed were earlier works that were now subtlety reworked, the whole set was terrific. They then stopped and Jenn said encores were something that she really did not do but hey lets do two more and they did ending with the title track from their new album, on the album it is great but their live rendition was stunning. They played for just under an hour and a quarter and there were no duff moments at all, it was all heavenly. Support was from Suno Deko who is a loop artist. Regrettably his primary loop pedal had technical issues for about half his set until Jenn found a psu to fix it. It was all wonderful after that but the first half was a bit of a car crash. I am sure the whole set would have been great and the audience was very understanding of something that was out of his hands. He is worth having a listen too and people were buying his merch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance Both Wye Oak and Suno Deko were amazing. The energy and performance of both the main band as well as the support were excellent. Wye Oak played a selection of new and older songs and kept their energy up throughout the show. Jenn killed it on vocals and gave us some really powerful moments on the guitar and Andy gave it his all on the drums. In terms of actual songs on their set, Holy and Civilian where my favorites but The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs and the Tower where not far behind. I hadn't been to the village underground before and was really impressed by the venue itself as well as the acoustics and setup there. All and all, a gem of a concert
