Désolé, il n'y a pas de spectacle pour SIMON FRIEND'S SEISMIC SURVEY en ce moment.
A combination of new ideas and reinterpretation makes for a unique audience experience. For Levellers fans, the show offers a chance to see some of their favourites in a different musical arrangement and for lovers of acoustic music it’s an opportunity to witness four talented musicians each bringing something special to the mix with contributions from the Doyle and Miro song catalogues.Simon affirms: “I think it’s an exciting project, there’ll be a bit of old, a bit of new, a bit of borrowed … but nothing blue!”
After almost 25 years with The Levellers, Simon Friend has found it refreshing to be planning his own show. “It’s healthy to do something outside the band and have some fun".
Some of the Survey's set list is drawn from Simon’s songs, such as Is This Art and The Boatman, but on the whole lesser known songs featured on Levellers B sides. Each song is dismantled and reworked from the ground up, recognizable but with a different approach utilizing a plethora of acoustic instruments including Guitars, Bass, Mandolin, Mando-Cello, Whistle, Banjo, Harmonica and Percussion. Simon: “You’ve got to keep the substance of the songs, but I didn’t want everyone to think that they had to perform it like a version of The Levellers".
