BIO:

After a long career mainly marked by the composition of the soundtracks for Dario Argento’s movies, Claudio Simonetti and his band return on stage performing the most successful hits which made the history of the Italian progressive rock and of the horror movies soundtracks

Goblin were funded at the beginning of the 70’s and inspired by prog band like Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Gentle Giant and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

At the beginning of 1975 the band was called in as a replacement for composer Giorgio Gaslini, who had left the film Profondo Rosso after a conflict with director Dario Argento and rewrote most of the score, including the famous main theme. Their success exceeded all expectations; more than one million copies sold, enjoying 52 weeks on the Italian charts and ranking first in both the singles and LP categories. It launched a highly successful period for the band.

Between 1975 and 1976 they released the instrumental progressive rock album Roller.
In
1977 the band was called once again from Dario Argento for his new film Suspiria, which became a cult movie.

In 1978 they recorded another successful soundtrack for the movie Zombi directed by George Romero and a concept album about drugs Il Fantastico Viaggio Del Bagarozzo Mark.

During the following years, despite their success, after a series of changes in their line-up Goblin broke up temporarily, but there were partial reunifications for Argento's Tenebrae (1982) and Non Ho Sonno (2000).
