Opening on 16 September at the recently refurbished Dominion Theatre, the musical considered by many to be Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s masterwork, will play for 55 performances only in the West End, with musical theatre and pop icon Marti Pellow playing Che, and the extraordinarily talented singer Madalena Alberto in the title role.

Marti Pellow rose to fame as a vocalist for Wet Wet Wet, he has previously played the role of Billy Flynn in Chicago in Japan, on the UK tour and in the West End and on Broadway. His other theatre credits include Chess at the Royal Albert Hall, Blood Brothers in the West End and on tour, a European tour of The War Of The Worlds and a UK tour of The Witches of East Wick. Madalena Alberto is a Portuguese actress and singer, with previous theatre roles including the 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables, Piaf at the Curve Theatre, Leicester, Fame on UK tour, Chicago in Kuala Lumpa, Over the Threshold at the Edinburgh Festival and in London, Zorro the Musical at the Garrick Theatre and Jekyll and Huyde in Godspell at the Union Theatre London.
