Rated 5 out of 5 by Stretch83 from AB smashed in again! If your a fan of alter bridge and ever seen them live you'll already know how good they are. Once again great gig by the AB guys. Volbeat as support was also a highlight. The other two supports were not to my taste (metal) but some fans seem to enjoy getting to see them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RogerV from Alter Brdge - the best Hard Rock Band of 2016 I saw Alter Bridge for the first time in a small, now demolished venue off Charing Cross Road in 2004 when they toured their first album and I thought they were destined for bigger things. I just did not realise how big. Been meaning to see them again but living in South Africa does make that tricky...... At the O2 on Thursday they were immense. Alter Bridge definitely has a special relationship with the UK and with London in particular which Miles referred to at one point. So they really pulled out all the stops........combining a visually impressive stage show with incredible musicianship and excellent sound. Kicking off with "The Writings on the wall" from their new album was an interesting choice given they have a bunch of other songs which pack more punch for an opener but it worked. The other songs off the new album slotted seamlessly into the show and I was really happy at a great version of "Crows on a wire" which is my favourite new song.............though hearing "Show me a leader" and "The other side" made me realise just how strong the new songs are. Also great to hear "Ties that bind", "Ghost of days gone by", "Addicted to Pain" and "Isolation". The absolute highlight of the show was "Blackbird" which, in my view. is still their greatest song off their greatest album. Miles has the best voice in modern rock and this song also shows what a great guitarist and songwriter he is, Mark Tremonti is also not just an accomplished guitarist and songwriter but, as we now know from his Tremonti side project, a very good vocalist. So, it was great to hear him sing on "Waters are rising" .............he is also a generous guy as he handed his guitar to a lucky punter in the front row after doing some serious shredding on it. Had to run for my train during the final encore of " Rise today" and I have made a promise to myself to see them every time they play London regardless of the challenging arrangements I have to make. By the way Gojira were a great support band. I know their stuff but had never seen them live before - absolutely excellent. Crashing riffs and good light show...and they did a cracking version of "Stranded".
