What people are saying about Brian Wilson

Rated 5 out of 5 by from He's an icon! I arrived just as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas came on. Loved Martha's self-deprecating humour and all the girls' grace. As I'm self-imprisoned in a timewarp which doesn't allow me to go beyond 1972 I wasn't familiar with Seasick Steve but I loved him too- the song with the girl from the audience was the highlight. Brian clearly isn't in the best of health and his voice was thin and reedy, but the show was great and I admire Brian for still wanting to go on the road, whatever his motivation. Sadly I guess it's the last time we'll see Brian or Al Jardine in these parts, but what a legacy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing compared to previous occasions I agree with the chap from West Yorkshire, this performance in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey was not nearly as impressive as previous BW concerts I have seen. Brian looked unwell and barely raised a smile, his voice was weak and the others had to help him out on many occasions, especially with the high notes. Praise must go to Al Jardine and his son Matt for really keeping the vocals together at times. Paul van Mertens was also very good on the wind instruments. But there were some highlights : Fun, Fun, Fun , Wouldn't It Be Nice and Sloop John B were excellent. I have a horrible feeling that we won't be seeing Brian touring Europe again, but wouldn't it be great if he and Mike Love could patch things up, forget the past and embark on a Reunion Tour. We can only dream !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb day Excellent line-up on the day and extremely good sound system...most impressed. Went with my son who currently has a huge brace on his leg so unable to stand for any length of time...the staff were excellent, phoning to tell us the access point for disabled section, giving us a contact name in case of difficulties and making sure he was seated appropriately. Can't fault the customer service at all. Venue very good, great crowd, great atmosphere, great day. The bands were wonderful, the local bandswere that good that I have already been to buy some of their releases, Martha Reeves was timeless, Seasick Steve was a riot and the Beach Boys...well better than I could have imagined. I will definitely attend more gigs here in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Show Ever Brian Wilson, with the help of 10 other very talented musicians, performed an outstanding rendition of Pet Sounds - arguably the best album ever composed. I found this show to be very mind-blowing, surreal and emotional. It is very rare that a live show can bring a tear to my eye but Brian has shown, yet again, that he is one of the greatest composers of all time - bar none. I would strongly reccommend that you all see this at least once in your lifetime. Genius is an overused word but it fits the album, the composer and the show perfectly! Incredible... Absolutely incredible...
