Replacing Malcolm Mooney in 1970, Suzuki was part of the second, and most celebrated, phase of CAN’s existence, performing on and helping to shape the classic albums Soundtracks, Tago Mago, Future Days and Ege Bamyasi, before moving on in 1973.

The singer was further immortalized by The Fall’s 1985 track ‘I Am Damo Suzuki’ and since 1983 has travelled the world under the banner of Damo Suzuki’s Network, performing live improvisational music with only the best local experimental and psychedelic rock acts; over the years these "Sound Carriers” have included Acid Mothers Temple, The Laze, Omar Rodriguez Lopez (The Mars Volta), and many, many more.
