FOURPLAY STRING QUARTET WITH NEIL GAIMAN Tickets and Dates

Australia's electrifying non-classical string quartet FourPlay draw as much from their backgrounds in rock, jazz, world music and electronica as they do from their classical instruments. Their own songwriting reflects their experience covering the music of Metallica, Charles Mingus, Sufjan Stevens and more. Having been described as "nothing short of magnificent" by The Scotsman, they continue to wow audiences with their "powerful and innovative live act which has carried them past the cliched hybrid into some new form of their own" (The Australian). They are thrilled to have one of the world's most celebrated multi-genre authors, Neil Gaiman, join them for this evening's show as their special guest. Their collaboration with Neil Gaiman (author of Sandman, American Gods, Coraline and much more) was initiated at the first ever Graphic Festival held at Sydney Opera House. The artists came together and an immediate symbiosis was evident which has been developing into ever more creative paths for five years. The initial collaboration found FourPlay writing & performing an underscore to Neil's gothic adventure tale The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains. The show, with Neil narrating and artwork by Eddie Campbell (From Hell) sold out two shows at the Barbican in London. FourPlay String Quartet showcase pieces from their extensive body of work as well as some stunning and playful surprises with Neil.
