What people are saying about Neville Staple
Rated 5 out of 5 by lyons_sue_1 from British ska at its best with a due nod to the Prince Superb evening full of ska lovers on a night not long after the passing of Prince Buster - the inspiration for the original ska revival in Britain back in the 1980s (Two Tone - Special AKA [then The Specials], The Selecter, Madness, etc). Neville Staples, original frontman of the Specials, played a set full of classic numbers (Simmer Down; Enjoy Yourself; Rudy, A Message To You, etc.) as well as massive Specials hits (like Ghost Town) and newer songs that I don't know the name of under his current band title The Neville Staples Band. A wide cross-section of ages from oldsters in pork pie hats reliving Two Tone days to youngsters loving the bouncy riddims. I first saw The Special AKA on a glorious night in London with Madness and The Selecter. This was as good as The Special AKA's set that night. Neville hasn't lost a muscle even though he says he can't jump off speaker stacks anymore. Come back soon, please.
