What people are saying about The Big One ft Frank Turner (DJ)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Entrance control was hoorible The event itself was great, but we had to wait in line for more than one hour!!! Therefore we missed half of the show.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The event was great - once you got in... We had tickets for the after show party of frank turners second night of lost Evenings at dingwalls. We were really excited to go as it was announced that Koo Koo Kanga Roo were going to pay a little set. Since we never seen them we were really happy about that. After the concert (and after getting our coats) we immediately made our way to the club about half way there a line started - this was the waiting line we quickly found out. One and a half hours later we were still standing I. The same spot waiting to finally get in! It seemed dingwalls had no organization whatsoever and it was total chaos at the entrance - totally unacceptable :( After about 2 hours of waiting we finally got in - just after Koo Koo Kanga Roo had finished - very disappointing! Frank Turners DJ-Set was really good but our mood was down so we went back to our hotel after staying for maybe 45 minutes. We saw a lot of people give up and leave the line, tired of waiting - totally understandable. After this experience we will definitely never frequent this club again!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most amazing gig I've been to! Went with my Mum and a friend. We're all Frank Turner fans but this far exceeded our expectations. A wonderful night that was definitely very special. Singing along as part of the crowd was magic. Koo Koo Kangaroo were a great choice for compares, they did a great job!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great night, once we got in! The queue moved incredibly slowly so it took ages to get in, despite it being an all ticket event in a 500 cap room. I would expect a venue that's been going for as long as Dingwalls has to be able to handle different things happening in different rooms. Also should have made it clear that ID was required, for security purposes rather than alcohol sales - luckily that night I had mine with me, but not everyone did. So I missed Koo Koo Kangaroo, which is a great shame as I don't think they'll be playing anywhere near me (I travelled from Devon for this weekend), but I saw the Frank Turner DJ set and that was awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great event, terrible venue The five stars are most definitely for the event which was fabulous. Koo Koo Kanga Roo are great fun to experience live and as a die hard Frank Turner fan, seeing him DJ was great. However, the venue staff were appalling and almost made me miss the show - I know lots of people who did miss it. On arrival at the door we were asked for ID and refused entry without it. Nowhere on the venue website does it state that you need ID to get in, nor was there anything on the ticket to say if would be needed. I'm 45 years old. I stopped thinking I'd need ID to get into clubs a long time ago. One person said it was because it was an 18+ event but then it was apparently to do with security. I spent £20 on a taxi to go back to by hotel to get my driving license and by the time I got back the queue was massive - I'd been the first person in it before I'd had to leave as I'd left the Frank Turner main show early to secure a good spot. To add insult to injury there were nowhere near enough staff on the door to deal with a queue that size - the guy checking tickets was ridiculously slow and at one point seemed to be going to stop me going in as my ticket had already been crossed off - I'd had two tickets and given one to someone else. The tickets had barcodes - maybe scanning them would be a good idea. Staff were rude and unhelpful on the door and although it was forgotten once inside and in the event, it did spoil the evening somewhat. Some people had their evening ruined - KKKR don't play the UK often so this was a limited opportunity to see them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If I wasn't such a huge fan, I would've left We waited over an hour to get into the venue and at no time during this wait did any of the staff members try to communicate to us what the hold up was.
