What people are saying about The Maccabees

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb I love the Maccabees and have done since I bought and their first album many years ago. This was the first time I got to see them live. I wasn't disappointed and I still don't understand why they aren't bigger than they are. I took a friend who had never heard of them and using their words, they were "banging". Great gig. I'll definitely be looking out for when you next play Cardiff and any future albums.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In Safe Hands The Maccabees gave an assured performance, taking their fans through the ins and outs of their diverse catalogue of music like a parent guiding their child across the road. Their experience of the stage was palpable, and there was mutual adoration from both the crowd and the band. Like an old friend, the Maccabees reminded us what it was like to be young, to be happy, and to be in love, while hinting at the sadness that inevitably comes along in life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonishingly good Brixton Academy is an awesome venue, but The Macabees took it to a newclevel with the intensity of their sound, their tightness, and the mesmeric lighting. Sheer perfection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous gig-Brixton 21/01/16 This was the second time we saw the band on the tour. Brighton was the other. These guys are one of the finest live bands around...they connect with the crowd immediately and in Brixton they were at another incredible level!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Maccabees just get better and better. The Maccabees was my first gig of 2016 and it set the bar at a stellar level, one of the best bands that I have seen live. The two support bands also a deserve praise and both had me bobbing my head. The all girl band Full Moon will be on my watch list as 2016 just might be their break through year, the set was fun, energetic and had a couple of cracking songs. As for the main event, wow, and because the Albert Hall is such an intimate venue the love in the room was palpable. The first song was the rousing and musically smart 'marks to prove it', which had the crowd hollering from the word go and the euphoric atmosphere never really abatted all through the hour and half long set. Just an amazing night of music, it does'nt get much better :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great band! Great venue Great live band to see. They have got better with age. Good set with old favourites (x ray was awesome) and some from their new album. Brixton a great venue, but queue around tge block to get in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Maccabees never disappoint, 4th time about 8mths, never get boring. I'm 20 weeks pregnant, so for the first time ever we watched the The Maccabees from the seated area, was a little worried we wouldn't get the same atmosphere but with these boys you can never feel like you're missing out. Great gig, hopefully the babies (twins!) will emerge out of the womb humming Latchmere.
