What people are saying about The Pineapple Thief

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fantastic gig but best seats taken by camera men Amazing gig of an amazing band! They played most of the new record which in my view is the best they have done up to now. Sound was great as I was in the mid section seating area upstairs. The only thing that kept me from giving this gig a 5star review is the fact that the best seats in the house, the two front rows of the mid section upstairs were taken by cameramen. I que for hours just to get that unobstructed view and in this case I felt slightly dissapointed when I found the seats already reserved and taken.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I made sure to be first in line for The Pinapple Thief's concert last night, so I waited 3 hours in snowy, freezing weather outside the venue. I had my unreserved seating ticket and wanted the best seat since this band is one of my favourites. But it turns out that the camera crew had special rights to disrupt the experience completely for the audience. Soon after I chose my seat (I was number one to enter the building), a cameraman told me I might need to move later. And what a surprise - minutes afterwards I'm shown to another seat because the filmmakers need space. A reserved seat. Which means I'm quickly moved _again_ to a third seat. And by this point, even the reasonsbly good seats are all filled up too. I stood through the insufferable weather to guarantee myself a good seat, only to end up behind a giant impatient man who kept moving in his seat and obstructing the view with his head. Really worth the patience and waiting. I do understand that a camera crew needs some space for shooting, but is it worth ruining the experience for paying concert goers? I might as well have shown up late since it wouldn't had made any difference to my view. Great band. Awfully disappointing experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Pinneapple thief at the next level My first time seeing this band and surely this West Country band are heading to Glastonbury next !. Words cannot describe how good they were at the London Assembly Hall. An incredible set list played with power and emotion. The new additions to the live band ( Gavin Harrison & Darran Charles ) have moved them to a new level. Truly amazing and didn't want the gig to end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always exceptional live I have been following The Pineapple Thief since seeing them live back in April 2008. I thought they were great live then and they have only got better over the years. What I particularly like is the added energy they seem to bring to the songs when performed live. Away from the careful production of their studio recordings they seem to add something extra live. With some bands you just wish the live performance was half as good as they sound in the studio, with TPT I find tracks that were OK on the studio album suddenly come alive when played live. I was sad to see Keith Harrison leave the group but suspect the pressure of trying to hold down a full time job and tour with TPT cannot have been easy. But the line up for this tour with Gavin Harrison on drums and Darran Charles on guitar certainly added to the sound. I always loved Gavin's performance with Porcupine Tree so had no doubt that he would add an extra dimension to TPT's sound. I wasn't familiar with Godsticks work, but they were a great support act and Darran also supporting Bruce on guitars was an excellent decision. I never saw the original five piece line up of TPT, as Wayne Higgins left the band the month before I first saw them live, but the extra guitar certainly adds additional depth to the live performance. So all in all a wonderful gig. I try to catch TPT on every tour because I just know it will be a great evening. They never disappoint and this was the best performance yet. I only home this will help grow their fan base and they will reach a wider audience. They deserver so much more recognition, and are far better than many of the bands that are in the charts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing concert! The travel from Italy to London was totally worth it! Everything about the concert was awesome, setlist, sound, crowd and the relaxed and nice atmosphere. Especially, having Gavin Harrison on the work was a big deal! I also enjoyed the fact that the fans could not record the performance and I hope a DVD come soon!
