What people are saying about The Shins

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time seeing The Shins! Having got into The Shins in 2011, I was really looking forward to this gig. As it was my time seeing The Shins and only my second time at the Apollo, the first time was in 2011, where I saw another amazing band, The Roots. The band did not disappoint opening with 'Kissing The Lipless' and playing a panoply of songs spanning their 5 albums and the new songs on 'Heartworms' sounded great live. Highlights for me were 'Caring is Creepy' and 'New Slang' and the tickets arrived promptly from See Tickets. Great gig and well worth the wait!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Gig Really enjoyed the gig at the Apollo. The sound quality for the Shins was a bit iffy but they played all the songs we wanted to hear

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Three bands in one. Two stand-out features of the Shins at the Apollo: first, seem far more eclectic live than in the studio - there's no style of rock/indie/country they don't touch. Second, the harmonies sound such much better without the heavy effects they use in the studio. Brilliant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dont bother! The Shins were worth seeing a few years ago up to the release of Wincing. Then James Mercer did a Mark E Smith and sacked the rest of the band. Saw the band with the new line up at The Forum in London a few years back, not sure why he needed to get rid of Dave Hernandez and the others. Unlike MES, he's a bit of a one trick pony songwriting-wise. Chutes Too Narrow & Inverted World are both great albums, Wincing so-so. Whereas the first two albums were great throughout, the last two have been patchy to say the least. The new song Dead Alive is Shins by numbers - he's definately lost his mojo. Don't even start me on Danger Mouse
