Year of No Light

Hailing from Bordeaux, Year Of No Light (often abbreviated as YONL) is a French band formed in 2001. With their first album, Nord, "Year Of No Light have proven adept a shifting seamlessly between genres, balancing post-rock, sludge, somber psychedelics and crushing dark and depressing atmospheric shoegaze". In 2010, now backed by two drums, 3 guitars (featuring the guitarist of Monarch!), the band (now an instrumental six pieces) released its second album, Ausserwelt, oscillating between drone, doom, post-rock, black metal and progressive music.
