What people are saying about Massive Wagons

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love seeing well known bands in small rooms I attended this gig with my wife and it was as good as we expected. Massive Wagons were excellent and surprisingly the venue wasn't sold out. There is always a chance to meet the bands at places like this and tonight was no exception. Baz came out to meet people and sign albums and was a very nice guy. The sound was good and as always here, we had a good view. Two good support bands made this good value for money. Well done guys

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Faultless band let down by the venue Massive Wagons never cease to bring Great music and entertainment to any room. the atmosphere they create and the songs they do are always second to none. They make the room just come alive. However sadly on this occasion my 8th time of seeing them Kendal Brewery Art Centre wasn’t the venue for them. Bootleggers is much better. Unfortunately the ceilings was way too low and with a stage in a similar level I never actually saw any of the band with my eyes just with my ears. The ceiling height also muffled the voices of the singing which is usually a class act. I will be returning to see Massive Wagons just not at that venue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome as always Have seen Massive Wagons on many occasions and at many venues small and large over the last few years and have no complaints about the band, but this venue (Brewery arts centre, Kendal) is not the place for them. Unless you are right at the front your view is hampered due to a really low stage, and the noise hampered by lack of acoustics due to a very low ceiling. In short, see the band but not at this venue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Come on feel the noize Currently the best British Classic Rock Band , fantastic entertainment from the boys, crystal clear sound , wonderful atmosphere and hook laden songs that surely deserve a far bigger audience. If the next Album is as good as Full Nelson and once again "All killer No Filler" then the world is well and truly there lobster!! An exhilarating rocking good time evening and special mention for the entertaining Bootyard Bandits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a show! What a venue!! I had been looking forward to this for a while, 3 great bands, I had seen Naked Six before as a two piece and was curious to see how they had changed adding a bass player, there was no change in energy, they kicked of the evening with great vigour, playing 9 songs in 30 mins with an almost punk sound. Following them Ryders Creed, outstanding, great, tight band with nice clear vocals, more importantly they looked like they were having fun. The main act Massive Wagons, you just know you are in for a good night when they play Volbeats Sad Mans Tongue as the warm up track and the whole crowd is singing along. Opening with Tokyo a surprise for many, the crowd were singing along straight away and the momentum just rose from there, with the odd step back as they played a couple of new tracks off a forthcoming album. The night was made extra special as the family of Verdun Hayes were in the room, the man who inspired the Ballad of Verdun Hayes. Finishing with Fe Fi Fo Fum, almost had the crowd moshing!! The venue is unique in that it is a converted cargo boat moored on the side of the river. Great sound and atmosphere, reasonable prices, great price tickets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you love good, old-fashioned hard rock, and have any sense at all, go see the Wagons!!! I first came across Massive Wagons in 2017 when they supported the Wildhearts at Nottingham Rock City on a special one-off show, and was converted on the spot. Their infections enthusiasm, skilled playing, with equally skilled songwriting, grabs a hold of you and pulls you in - it was love at first sight. I've been back to see them whenever possible, when they venture down south, and managed to see them four times in less than two years, with a fifth date booked in April already. MW have been at this a while - they aren't a flash-in-the-pan hobby band: what makes them great is they truly believe in two things: what they're doing and having fun - both in equal measure. And they're song-writing reflects this; alongside great songs like 'Tokyo', 'Nails', and crowd favourite 'Ratio', are the fun sings like 'Billy Balloon Head' and 'China Plates'. They wear their hearts on their sleeves, evident in tracks like 'Back to the Stack', a tribute to the late, great, Rick Parfitt of Status Quo, as well as new songs like 'Sunshine Smile' which screams early Aerosmith-riffing influence. And it's not only fans taking noticed - promoters and radio stations see their potential, with them being regulars at the likes of Hard RockHell, Steelhouse Festival, Planet Rockstock and even Bloodstock and Download festivals, not to mention their relentless touring of venues up and down the country, such as Rock City Nottingham, O2 Academies all over the place, the O2 Arena in London and a sold out, special gig at Lancaster Library. If you get the chance, go see them. You won't regret it even slightly.
