What people are saying about Roddy Woomble

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Masterful performance of old and new Great evening and great performance of solo songs mixed in with some classic Idlewild. Sound was amazing in the venue and the rapport between Roddy and the crowd was good fun. He even put up with my drunken ramblings at the end!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Night Let down by his support, but overcame this with banter and humour well done Roddy we had a great night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another fine evening... Is there no end to this man's talent and versatility? Another excellent, enjoyable performance, yet different from the ninety or so times I've seen him over the past twenty years. Well done, Roddy Woomble and Andrew Mitchell.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great intimate stripped back gig Never know what to expect going to see Roddy! The Tolbooth in Stirling is quite a small venue and it suited. This time it was just Roddy with Idlewild band mate Andrew Mitchell, who played guitar, piano, keyboard and vocal accompaniment. A first was seeing Roddy playing his guitar and struggling with autotuning, but this was endearing rather than annoying. Great songs from back catalogue and current album, the Deluder, and a couple of happier new songs too. More chat with audience too, so a lot of firsts in one night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Roddy on good form Roddy Woomble and his band on good form at the Brudenell. A mixture of his early more folky solo stuff and his new album worked well, with a few idlewild songs for good measure. A really intimate gig at a great venue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent gig Big fan of Idlewild but never seen them or Roddy live. Went to the gig at the Pleasance, Edinburgh and it was excellent. First song was a bit chaotic, not sure if the sound desk had everything sorted out but from that point through to the end each song was brilliant. Nice venue to boot.
