What people are saying about Soft Machine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great gig I went with my wife and it was the second time we had seen them recently

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great event - superb venue and the band were awesome! Storey’s Field Centre is easily accessible by foot from Madingley Road Park & Ride. An intimate event - less than 200 in the audience - I sat behind the mixing desk out of choice and still had a great view. The band were very engaging - lots of 7 - my favourite album and lots of the new album which I bought at the gig. 5 stars from me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Soft Machine Four of us went to this event and we were all in agreement that if we had know what was in store we wouldn't have bothered. Definitely not my type of music and did not enjoy it. They are so avangarde the music was all over the place, music that came out of the acid induced 70's and in my opinion should have stayed there. I was so disappointed because had heard John Etheridge in other forms and really enjoyed his music. Unless you are into avangarde jazz that goes no where then this music is not for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent performance from a band at the end of their UK tour. I've never seen Soft Machine before, so have never seen them with any original members. But three of the four joined the band in the early 1970s, two never having left. They, naturally, played mostly tunes from their era in the band, including several from the new album. All were excellent, the performances were great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb venue thoughtfully laid out as a jazz club for the evening. I went to this event with my wife who had never heard Soft Machine before, the start of the first half was a little slow and the free form jazz difficult to follow, improved as the first set continued. The second set was fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cracking gig, at a cracking venue Superb show, could listen to this all night. Great selection of songs both old and new. Have to give a quick mention to the support band 'Silas & Saski', they were very good too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A band from the past that I never expected to see playing live In a small but cozy venue I saw an electric jazz band that does not care about formalities. Even if none of the founding members was still playing, there were two members that joined the band during the 70's, contributing their own unique tunes and personalities.
