What people are saying about Sweet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Status Quo at Hammersmith and Sweet of course With Quo i had a first row ticket, amazing! At the Sweet concert I bought a cd and the guys signed it for me and I brought the booklet from "Quatro, Scott and Powell" with me and Andy signed that one too. Nice venue by the way, we have something similar like that in Belgium called "The Spirit of 66" in Verviers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet memories! A terrific night of nostalgia as the Sweet romped though their amazing catalogue of hits. They are much more ... a high-quality hard rock band who clearly love playing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet alive in Kensington Went with wife to a brand new venue - what an excellent venue it was - easy to get to, quick service at bar and great view. As for Sweet, have seen on a number of occasions before. They always give a professional show with one original member (Andy Scott on guitar). However, for me, they do too many acoustic versions of songs and their version of New York groove is appalling. But if you are a “sweetie “, you will love it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Night Out Did not expect to enjoy a Sweet concert so much, great songs and the band looked like they enjoyed it as much as the crowd, good venue

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Brilliant bands, poor organisation The Sweet were brilliant as always and the atmosphere was great. However, the tickets we had printed showed a start time of 8:30 and made no mention of a support. So we were annoyed when we arrived at 8:00 to find Voodoo Sioux in full flow. Also, having printed our own tickets we were told we still had to queue to present them at the box office. So what was the point?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best gig I have seen in my life Incredible musicianship! A dazzling drummer and superb lead guitar playing. It was so great to hear all those songs done with the full harmony. Loads of mood changes and all with such good humour. There is no band quite like this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Sweet Live in London Sitting in the Three Kings Pub on the West-Cromwell Road, pre-gig.., I don’t think I've ever seen this many of us die-hard Sweet fans gathered in one place for years..., somebody should tell David Attenborough that he should film here., as this is a very rare occurrence indeed!! As we were just about to leave for the gig, the door opened and in walked Tony O'Hora; Bruce Bisland and Pete Lincoln of the band to meet up with the fans and to no doubt have a pre-gig beer as well., and that was very nice to see. As for the gig itself., well, Andy Scott’s Sweet playing live in London is also a very rare occurrence in this day and age as most of their live work these days is played over in mainland Europe., but anyway, here we are in Kensington, West London earlier this evening. Incidentally, my apologies for the quality of the pics as we didn’t get to see a lot in this venue as the place was pretty packed out., and these were the best views that I'd had all night. The band were their already perfect best in as far as the songs go.., but the only deviation from their very ‘established’ set tonight were, ‘The Peppermint Twist’., and ‘AC/DC’., both from, ‘Sweet FA’ , and which were a rare treat for us Sweet fans. Overall., the band were polished and sounding very good tonight. One very annoying moment sadly, was when Andy Scott was talking over the microphone to the fans about some of the moments of yester-year, and a couple of stories about the original Sweet members from days gone by., to which we were all hangning on his every word, as us Sweet fans are prone to do.., when some absolute idiot decided to shout out 'Get on with it!'., twice! But was thankfully was shouted down by just about every Sweet fan in the house tonight., myself included., which was a justifiable retort to the idiot, who soon left during the intrumental section of 'Love is like Oxygen'.., and good riddance to him too! But...., this was no ordinary venue.. and there really could have been some magic in the air tonight such as one or two of the B-Sides or an album track perhaps..., but sadly., there was none., only some great memories of past glories and of course., them hits of days gone by. But at least I got a new sweet-shirt out of this evening,.., and I was with friends.., :) x
